Presentation of our practice in the United Arab Emirates :

The Ras al Khaimah office is led by Edouard Salwan, an attorney registered with the Beirut Bar and a licensed legal consultant.

The office serves European SMEs (with revenues ranging from €5 million to €500 million), entrepreneurs, and multinationals looking to establish or expand in the Middle East, where Ras al Khaimah, Dubai, or Abu Dhabi are often used as logistical, commercial, or financial hubs for structuring business development in Asia and/or Africa.

The office assists clients with the structuring of their projects, helping them choose the appropriate corporate structure, either within free zones allowing them to retain 100% control of their capital, or with local partners (sponsors) for all distribution, industrial, or financial activities across the UAE and the Middle East. The office provides ongoing support and advice to clients in the daily operation of their businesses, both in the UAE and internationally, benefiting from Ras al Khaimah, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi as regional bases.

The main resident partners are Bertrand Dumon and Edouard Salwan. They are fluent in five languages (French, Italian, English, German, and Arabic) and are accustomed to leading and negotiating simple or complex transactions in challenging environments, often participating in their clients’ strategic decisions in the context of mergers and acquisitions, financing rounds, tax structuring in the UAE, the GCC, or Africa.

With a cumulative 100 years of experience as “corporate and tax” partners in the world’s largest law firms or within multinationals, combined with their local expertise across the Middle East and Africa, the partners are well-positioned to supervise and coordinate all local teams in the best interest of their clients.
