Bertrand Dumon has been based in the United Arab Emirates for more than a decade and founded Dumon Partners in 2012.
After having affiliated Dumon Partners in 2015 with one of the leading Arab law firms in the Middle East, Dumon Partners regained its independence in 2020 and now provides legal and tax services from Switzerland, France, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Before founding Dumon Partners, Bertrand was a global partner and head of the corporate team at the Paris office of the English law firm Watson, Farley and Williams LLP.
Bertrand has been involved in numerous international transactions such as acquisitions, joint ventures, setting up of subsidiaries, financings and restructurings, where he advised both companies and international investors.
Bertrand Dumon has also developed recognized and leading expertise in private equity transactions (LBO, MBO, venture capital) and, more generally, corporate finance and financial engineering.
His experience also covers all transactions on listed securities (acquisitions of stakes, public offers or delisting). Bertrand advises companies and investment funds, particularly in renewable energy, energy, commodities trading, aviation, hospitality – Food and Beverages and new information technology sectors.
Historically, Bertrand’s area of activity covered Europe, France in particular, and North America, today mainly the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to joining Watson, Farley and Williams in January 2006, Bertrand was co-head of the Private Equity team at the New York firm LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene and MacRae LLP in Paris. Bertrand holds a PhD in contract law from the University of Paris – Nanterre and is a lawyer registered with the Paris Bar and with the Abu Dhabi Global Market Authority (“ADGM”).
